A letter from our Executive Director
I would like to personally thank you for your interest in learning more about the Community Outreach For Financial Education or COFFE. We are a non-profit organization created from a strong passion for bringing financial literacy into our communities.
As reading and writing were essential to participate in society in the past, today you must be financially literate to participate in society and the fact is, we as a nation have not stepped up to the plate to take on this big responsibility. We believe this lack of education is responsible for most of the bankruptcies, foreclosures, underfunded retirement plans, and failed marriages. Our mission is to provide these educational tools to empower lives by helping people become more aware so they can make better financial decisions and live better lives.
Members of COFFE have a variety of skills and talents we gained from our financial ‘day-jobs’ and we are all committed to providing an variety of essential educational classes to libraries, churches, clubs and schools. We are committed to make sure these are non-sales classes in order to create a comfortable environment for learning.
All of our classes are offered free of charge. Please join us for an upcoming class and spread the word to your friends and loved ones. Let us all Wake Up to a New Financial Future!
Our ethical principles are the values that set the ground rules for all that we do as members of Community Outreach For Financial Education. As we seek to achieve responsible success, we will be challenged to balance these principles, always mindful of our promise to achieve responsible success.
The Ethical Principles Are:
HONESTY: We will not say things that are false. We will never deliberately mislead. We will be as candid as possible, openly and freely sharing information, as appropriate to the relationship.
PROMISE KEEPING: We will go to great lengths to keep our commitments. We will not make promises that can’t be kept and we will not make promises on behalf of COFFE unless we have the authority to do so.
FAIRNESS: We will create and follow a process and achieve outcomes that a reasonable person would call just, evenhanded, and non-arbitrary.
RESPECT FOR OTHERS: We will be open and direct in our communication, and receptive to influence. We will honor and value the abilities and contributions of others, embracing the responsibility and accountability for our actions in this regard.
COMPASSION: We will maintain an awareness of the needs of others and act to meet those needs whenever possible. We will also minimize harm whenever possible. We will act in ways that are consistent with our commitment to social responsibility.
INTEGRITY: We will live up to our ethical principles, even when confronted by personal, professional, and social risks, as well as economic pressures.
COFFE was created with one goal in mind…to spread financial literacy in local communities. We offer over a dozen classes and have educators based all over the country. All of our classes are free of charge and free of expectations. We believe that the “Education without Expectation” approach can provide our communities with the knowledge and educational tools needed to enrich their lives and impact their financial well-being.
We promise to provide you with an educational service only. We will never try to sell you a service or product and we will never contact you without your consent. However, if you choose to meet with an educator outside of the classroom, it is acceptable.
We promise to provide you with highly qualified educators. The topics they teach reflect their line of work.
We promise “Education Without Expectation.” All we need from you is your attendance. Our only goal is for you to become more aware of financial information to help empower you to make better financial choices for you and your family.
Standing by our promise is very important to us. If you believe that we have failed to live up to any of these, please contact us toll free at (844) 41-COFFE
